​7 Differences of IQ scores in each group of people

Intelligence and IQ scores have been a popular subject that many researchers are interested in. There are a number of conclusions that has been reached over time, some of them interesting but some very controversial. Below are 7 typical differences of IQ scores between groups.

1. Sex

Some researches demonstrate that men get higher IQ score than women. This could be due to the fact that IQ tests traditionally measure aspects which men are better than women such as math and spatial. If there are more things which both men and women are good at, the differences between sexed could disappear.  

2. Age

  Ages also have effect on intelligence of a person. The peak of your IQ score is when you reach “adulthood” and will gradually decrease as you get older. Maturation of the brain and an increasing understanding and vocabulary are the reason of this case.
When people get older, the quality of memory decreases and they find it difficult to focus. As a results, the performance also decreases.

3. Education

  It is obvious that people with higher education have higher score in IQ tests than other people with less education.

4. Race

  Intelligence is not only depends on genetics, but also on differences between races. Overall, Asians have the highest IQ score in comparison to whites and blacks in a traditional IQ tests. While whites’ score is a bit higher than blacks’. This is not about race, but reflects average education level and other factors.

It is not true that intelligence is measured by hereditary only. There are several factors that affect to intelligence and IQ score such as attitude towards work, socioeconomic status, health and educational differences are divided unequally between races. In fact, it would be illogical if there is no differences between races.

5. Height

  Don’t be surprised if there is a correlation between height and intelligence. A research of Scottish scientists have shown that taller people have higher IQ score than shorter people. However, the distance between taller and shorter people IQ is not very big.

6. Nationality

  There are many differences in IQ score between countries all over the world. According to “popular belief”, some nations are smarter than others. The main reason can be educational level. The “higher educated” a country is, the “smarter” the country is.

7. Social success

  Although lower IQ score does not affect success of a person in social, successful people often have a higher IQ.
